Oct 20 [Monday]

Location: Novarese-Waring-Walnut Grove-Perkins-Tutwiler square.
Distance: 3.6 miles
Time: 00:32:48
Pace: 09:06

Comments: Contrary to my source, this route is NOT 4 miles. Tt is 3.6 miles. But it was still a good run. I had to run off an initial cramp. I also borrowed Roy's mp3 player, but I did not end up using it. The music made me feel heavy. It think it disturbed rythm and psychological concentration. I felt uncoordinated and messy while listening to the music. As soon as I took the earbuds out of my ear, I felt free and light. Good to know this.

I experimented with running as fast as I possible could. I don't know if I can describe my process, exactly. But it involves stretching out my legs to a long, gliding stride (think gazelle), and then gradually speeding up, but being careful to maintain the long stride. It reminds me of changing gears on a bike. At the apex the run, my step rate is equivelant to my ordinary sprint, but my stride is so much longer - or the gear is higher - I am going much faster. But I can't start in that high gear. I have to work my way up. It's pretty cool. But does it make any sense?
