Saturday, October 10

I failed to run friday or to-day, so I decided to go tonight. 2.1 miles in 18 minutos. the last .7 miles I was running hard. I don't recommend running on a steak.

Wednesday, October 7

60 minutes on the dot today. Started out planning to run about 5-6 miles, but around mile 3 I knew I could do more so I re-planned my route. Came out to about 7 miles. Very encouraging and getting my excited about December!!!

Monday, October 5

3.8 miles. 31 minutes. A nasty feeling is running when you have no energy and you are sore. but it does feel good to push through the pain and finish your run.

Friday, October 2

32 minutes tonight.

Wednesday, September 30

39 minutes, 4.5 miles; Felt pretty good, though my Achilleses began to wax a bit sore in the last mile or so. Listened to Bro. Zack preach on Romans 8. I am not a debtor to the flesh!

Monday, September 28

Tonight I warmed up with 2.1 miles in 18 minutes and then ran hard another 2.1 in 16 minutes for a total of 4.2 miles in 34 minutes.

I have discovered two Daughtry songs that I can run to. 'September' has a good jogging tempo, and I listen to 'You Don't Belong To Me' for a fast tempo when I want to run hard.

Sunday, September 27

Went to Arkansas and didn't run Friday or Saturday. But tonight I ran hard - 2.1 miles in 13 minutes.

Wednesday, September 23

30 minutes at a moderate pace and the last half was in a soft rain - beautifulness.

Monday, September 21

Found a training schedule that I'm going to roughly follow to train for the december race. This should keep me motivated to actually get out and run, and not just think about it.

today I ran 20 minutes at moderate pace (around 10m/m)

Monday, August 17

ran a mile in 8mins and then a mile in 6 mins.

Thursday, August 6

Ran 1 mile cold in 5:59. I think warming up would improve my time.

Wednesday, August 5

Inspired by nathan to start working on speed in the short run, I went out this afternoon and ran 1.4 miles at a 5:49 pace. I have been couped up all day and this was a great way to expend some energy. I may make this a daily habit. After all, the whole ordeal would take less than thirty minutes even if you are running a 5k.

Wednesday, July 15

Breakfast of the Pavement

Tonight I ran 4 miles with Bek and Merc. First run since the Andrew Jackson Race. Around mile 3 my right knee gave some, but that is fairly norm. I just try to beat it mentally.
Working on a goal for the near future...Do I start running now? Do I wait another month???

Thursday, April 23

Andrew Jackson Half-Marthon 2009

My finish time for the half-marathon was 1:54:38, which comes to a pace of 8:45. A great time was had by all, and I will definitely try to do this again next year!

Thursday, April 16

I have been sick all week, and consequently not run at all. Besides that school has demanded my time to the brim. It looks like come race time, I won't have run for 9 days! YEAH, this is gonna be fun!

Thursday, April 9

Ran 3 this morning but didn't feel too awesome. I think my legs are still getting over the 9-miler.

Monday, April 6

After one failed running attempt this morning because of a drop of rain and some tremendous winds, I went at it again this afternoon, and am very glad I did. I started on the 5 mile route, not knowing if I would do 5 or more - maybe 6 or even 8. it took me 5 miles to get in a really good rhythm, but I finally did and so went for four more. I was movin on the last 4. A good rhythm sure does make a difference. 9 miles (maybe a bit less - not sure). 68 minutes. I am very encouraged. When I stopped today, I felt that if I had been running the race, I could have made myself go four more. I won't say its all mental, but it sure can make or break you.

Friday, April 3

It was my intention to run 6, but somehow I only ran 5. really - I thought I was running the 6 mile route, but I werent. so 5 miles in 42:20.

2 weeks till race day, and I am getting excited. I am a bit miffed because I won't be able to travel with everyone to Jackson on Friday. Because of my choir reheasal I will be arriving late. but so goes it!

Wednesday, April 1

Had limited time today I ran only 11 minutes. Some more than a mile. My thigh was hurting, so it was just as well. Friday, I hope to run about 7 or 8 miles.

Monday, March 30

Knowing about the 3 miles route is working out very well. Today I was minimally enthused about running because I knew that I had the option of running just 3 miles if I did not feel like 4. The good things is, by the time I get to the turn-around point, I feel pretty good, and I know I am almost halfway done anyway, so I go ahead and run 4 miles. Nice little trick. my time was about about 32 minutes. I haven't felt like I was running an 8mm pace, but apparently I was. we'll see what happens when I go longer on Friday.
