Comments:
3x around the block is approx. 2 miles. For my first run this season, I felt pretty good. I walked about a quarter of the block to get loose, and then jogged straight through. My legs didn't tired and there was no sign of shin-splints, albeit I ran only 2 miles. My new Asics are superb - I am pretty sure I like them better than my Nikes. My breathing got heavier after a mile. I think the main obstacle to longer-distance running will be cardio-conditioning, which will come with time. I may start doing some jump-roping.
